Conservation
As more animal species are pushed to the brink of extinction, either through habitat loss, or through loss of superior genetic stock caused by natural disaster, disease or poaching, something must be done to preserve species for future generations and to protect the genetics of those still living.
Until now, zoos and private reserves all over the world have carried the responsibility for both by participating in breeding programmes.
When animals within an isolated group are breeding, the mixing of genetic material from close family members causes genetic uniformity to occur, resulting in mutated abnormalities and genetic defects, and is known as inbreeding. Inbreeding weakens a species' ability to withstand and resist external environmental pressures.
Breeding programmes to mix up genetic stock with animals from completely different groups and regions have worked successfully up until recent years, relying on the natural mating behaviour of the animals, but the pressure is now on to keep up with an even more rapidly changing world than existed only a decade ago.
Simply put, There is no more time to wait.
Cryo Preservation
SABLE-RANCH is proud to be partnered in the global efforts to collect gametes and embryos from live and deceased animals for storage in cryo vaults. The storage, management and availability of this material makes it convenient, more dependable and more affordable for reserve and ranch owners all over the world to obtain and successfully use outside genetic stock. Partnering in a trusted network ensures that proper quality control and stringent ethical practices are followed every step of the way.

Some day the entire fate of a recently extinct species could well depend on cryo storage!
